A new milestone was set in the development of our East Asian Mission Vicariate when our new formation house in New Manila was opened and blessed by the bishop of Cubao, his Excellency Honesto Ongtioco on May 17, 2010. The celebration started with the mass in the new chapel presided by most Reverend Bishop. He blessed the house and joined us in our celebration. With us were many friends and cooperators, in particular our visitators from the Generalate in Rome, Frs. Piet Cuijpers and Paul Portland, Salvatorian Sisters and lay Salvatorians, representatives from various religious communities and schools where our brothers study.
The new house can accommodate 30 residents and will serve as theologate and language school. From now on we have appropriate buildings to provide a better structured formation.
From now on our set up of formation is as follows:
- Father Jordan Formation House in Amadeo, Cavite: Philosophy students
- Father Otto Hopfenmüller House in Loyola Heights, Quezon City: Novices
- Mary, Mother of the Savior House in New Manila, Quezon City: English and theology students.
Remark for better orientation: Cubao, New Manila, Loyola Heights and Quezon City are all located in Metro Manila, the capital city of the Philippines.
