Abundance of Grace; Graduation 2013

The University of La Salette-Silang Campus, Biga, Silang, Cavite celebrates its 12th Commencement Exercises at Our Lady of La Salette, Shrine Chapel on March 23, 2013, Saturday at 8:00 am, with the theme: "Do whatever He tells you" Jn, 2:5, Celebrating with Great Joy in the Year of Faith. This signifies the experience of the true conversion that consequently warns everyone that the oneness and deeper relationship with Christ are very essential. This message leads the twenty-three graduates to call themselves Mamamalakaya (Fishers of Men) Class of 2013, which brings the invitation from God to the people, to turn back to Jesus, in order to encounter Him in the sacraments and fully feel the merriment of the Holy Eucharist. The celebration starts with the Baccalaureate Eucharistic Celebration presided by Very Rev. Fr. Rosanno Soriano, MS; Provincial Superior of the Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette, Ina ng Pag-asa, Province, Philippines, with the concelebrants from different religious communities.

Moreover, the parents, relatives, guardians, friends and many more are in attendance to witness the most awaited moments of the class. Therefore, it echoes the time of sharing of their united efforts not only among the graduates but with their parents and loved ones, the faculty and staff of the University of La Salette, as well as the administrators from Isabela Province, namely; Ms. Marilyn P. Gaot, MBM, University Registrar and Dr. Levita Manglapus-Castro, Vice President of the Academic Affairs, and the Chairman/Board of Trustees of the La Salette Schools and the Commencement Speaker, Very Rev. Fr. Rosanno Soriano, MS assisted by Rev. Fr. Ronnie Rodriguez, MS., MA, the Academic Coordinator of ULS in Silang together with the Registrar Staff of ULS-Silang, Ms. Maribel Borromeo. They are at the same time conferring upon the graduates, the Academic Honors and Special Awards.
It is indeed a fulfilling moment for every graduate to truly sense their little but meaningful achievements, more so to the Salvatorian Community for receiving and only given to their brothers both the Academic Honors and the Special Awards. Specifically, for Academic Honors; two for Cum Laude (Sem. Jenno C. Dolor and Sem. Nguyen Anh Linh), three for Meritorious Awards, (Sem. Pham Quoc Khanh, Sem. Adrian Bangate and Sem. Ren Hao), while for Special Awards; two for Best Thesis Writers, (Sem. Nguyen Anh Linh and Sem. Jenno C. Dolor) and lastly, one for the Leadership Award, (Sem. Jenno C. Dolor) for being the President of the Student Council, S.Y. 2012-2013 in the University.
It is in fact an emblem of the genuine dedication of the brothers for their studies and the authentic response to their duties and responsibilities, not merely in the Formation House but even in the University, as well. This would only accentuate that they are the beneficiaries of these united efforts. After the recognition is the presentation of the twenty-three graduates and followed by the message from the graduates, given by the President of Mamamalakaya Class of 2013, (Sem. Jenno C. Dolor). The speech concentrates not only on their common experiences, nonetheless on the journey of each candidate including the unceasing gratefulness to those who became their partners in achieving this success. Next, is the singing of the Class Theme Song (Leap of Faith) and the singing of the Alma Mater of the University (Reconciliare). And lastly is the pictorial of the graduates together with their relatives, guests and the administrators, faculty and staff of the university. Thereafter, everyone goes to different respective houses/religious houses to celebrate the event. Nevertheless, the challenge is still there, that may the Mamamalakaya Class of 2013, be able to carry continuously and faithfully the identity that the Lord God has given to each one of them and subsequently, be the living examples of Christ.
